Alex
Woodend

I grew up in a small town in New Jersey and studied political science, Mandarin, and Spanish at Franklin & Marshall College. After graduation I worked as a newspaper reporter and congressional aide. Then I attended a master’s program in Chinese literature and history at Columbia University.

My love for creative writing and cross-cultural communication led me to pursue a career in literary translation. This led to collaborations with top Chinese authors, tens of thousands of book sales, and three Hugo Award nominations. Meanwhile, my own fiction landed a top agent and praise from leading editors—watch this space for news about my first novel publication.

I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished but am eager to impact the world more directly. The US is responsible for a huge percentage of global carbon emissions, and transportation is the biggest contributor. Transitioning to electric vehicles is crucial for securing a safe and healthy future for us all.

So I’ve decided to channel the creativity and attention to detail I’ve developed as a writer and translator into help electric vehicle companies tell their stories and show potential customers how an EV can improve their lives.
